Addison Update

We had another scheduled triage visit yesterday to see how Addison is doing. The nurse said she was the best baby all day! She has plenty of amniotic fluid surrounding her (must be why she's so comfy), she's moving constantly, and her heart rate is perfect! While the tech was doing the ultrasound, Addison waved to us. The tech printed out the picture for us. The first words out of Aaron's mouth when we saw her hand on the screen was... "she has 5 fingers!" The picture is kind of distorted, but you can see part of her head and her giant hand. We are so anxious to meet her!! We go back to the doctor on Monday, then to triage on Tuesday. Unless of course she decides she's ready this weekend... which would be PERFECT by the way!

Aaron is 27!!

Aaron turned 27 yesterday! We thought Addison might like to share the special day with her Daddy, but apparantely she's still too comfy to make her appearance! We celebrated Aaron's Bday on Sunday at my parents house (where he had Key Lime Pie) and last night at his parents (his Dad made him a carrot cake).

Happy Birthday Aaron!

Update- 38 weeks

Our triage appointment went GREAT! The nurse said Addison is "perfect in every way". Her heartrate, amniotic fluid level, movement, etc. She was very happy with how she's doing and said all we need are contractions. I've been waiting for them, but nothing yet :) Dr. Hoertz wants me to go once a week for the triage checks to make sure things are still going well. They didn't change my due date- so it's still Oct 1. I think the visit put me at ease and helped me relax a little bit more. I'm still anxious to meet her, but realize she's fine and she'll come when she's ready. They did an ultrasound so we got to see little parts of her at a time (since she's a lot bigger now, we could only see parts at a time). When I asked the nurse how big she was, she said estimates could be at least a pound off, but she felt around and said "she's the perfect size for your body". Hopefully that means less than 8 pounds?!?!

We go back to the doctor on Tuesday, then back to Triage on Thursday. We'll keep the updates coming!

Doctor's Visit Today

So we went to the doctor today. Not much changed since my internal exam last week. I am still 1 cm dilated, but he said my cervix is softer and about 30% effaced. Her head is down a little lower but still not engaged. He is sending me tomorrow at 3pm to Triage at Sarasota Memorial Hospital to have a nonstress test and ultrasound. I think he could tell I was irritated that nothing had changed. I asked which due date he would use- for those of you that don't know, he originally said Sept 13 based on my last period, but the ultrasound dated Oct 1 as the due date. That's when he decided to send me for testing to narrow things down. So during tomorrow's tests, I assume they will measure Addison to see how big she is to help determine a closer due date, measure the amount of amniotic fluid, check to make sure she's developing properly, etc. The stress test hooks me up to fetal monitors and sees how her heart rate reacts to several different factors- noise, simulated contractions, etc. I'll try to post an update after the appointment to let you know what's new! We're getting closer which is exciting, but it's so hard that everything is so "up in the air"!

37 week pictures

Here are pictures from this weekend. I had a sudden burst of energy this morning, so we'll see if that was just a fluke or a true sign that labor is around the corner! It would be nice if it was true. Tomorrow night is a full moon. Not sure that I believe in that, but they do say the hospitals are extra busy around full moons. Aaron and I went for a walk on the beach yesterday and a walk around our neighborhood tonight. I know they say walking is a wivestale too, but it sure can't hurt, right?! Enjoy the pictures of my beach ball belly. The days of the "bump" are long past.

My mom has a picture similar to this one when she was pregnant, so we took this last night at their house just for laughs.

Wishful thinking for fall. :) You can even catch a glimpse of my swollen ankles in this one... lovely.

37 weeks!

We are 37 weeks today~ "full term". Only 3 weeks to go until our official due date of October 1! We went to the doctor today and he did an internal exam. Addison's head is not engaged in my pelvis, my cervix is soft and about a fingertip (1cm) dilated. Not much, but better than nothing I guess. Oh yeah- good news- I didn't gain ANY weight this week! So my weight gain remained at 41 pounds. UGH! I am thinking a lot of it is water weight... wishful thinking I guess. My feet were swollen when I woke up this morning. Usually they are swollen at the end of the day, then go back to "normal pregnancy size" by morning... not today! Dr. Hoertz told us to go to a movie this weekend, because we wouldn't need a babysitter :) We will go back on Tuesday afternoon to see if anything has changed. My bags are packed and all set for when Addison decides she's ready! We'll keep you posted!

Happy September 1st!

We are so excited to think that this is the month that our daughter could be born! Our fingers are crossed that she's a September baby, but if she's not born until October, we'll be fine with that too :) We've already told her: the sooner the better! Here are some pictures we took last night and this morning. Don't think we can call my belly a "bump" anymore- probably more like a beach ball now! We go back to the doctor on Wednesday, so we'll see if anything is new! Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend!
