"Bump" Pictures and Movement!

Hi again!

I thought I'd add a couple more pictures. Aaron and I went for a walk this evening and I realized I had taken a picture several weeks ago wearing the same outfit I wore tonight. I thought it would be a good comparison. So the first one is from 9 weeks and the other is 17 weeks 6 days (it'll be 18 weeks tomorrow).

So exciting to say that I felt the baby move for the first time yesterday morning while I was eating breakfast. I'm convinced that's what it was- it felt like fluttering near my belly button. It was awesome- definitely nothing I've ever felt before!

17 weeks 4 days

Here are some new pictures to update everyone on our growing baby (and my growing bump)! We went to the doctor this past Wednesday and heard the heartbeat loud and clear. The last time (4 weeks ago) it took Dr. Hoertz a little while to find it but this time we heard it as soon as his little wand touched my belly! It was awesome. It averaged around 140. I've been reading the wives tales about the heartrate and predicting boy/girl, and it says above 140 is supposedly a girl and below 140 is a boy- well ours averaged at 140 so I guess it's still a mystery! We find out the sex on May 13. Our appointment is at 4:00 in the afternoon- we can't wait! That's when they'll do the big ultrasound with all the measurements, check our due date, and tell us if it's a boy/girl (if the baby cooperates). We'll have to give them a little "talk" before the appointment so they know how to behave-- both Grandmas will be there watching!

Enjoy the pictures. We took them this evening and I look pretty tired. You can see my face is filling out. I guess I should update my weight too since I mentioned my chunky face... I'm up to 113 pounds. So that means I've gained 12 pounds so far. I started a prenatal yoga class last Friday. It's once per week and I really enjoyed it. Not only was it lots of great stretching, it got my heartrate up a few times with some light squats and fun dancing! I felt so great afterwards and it gives me yet another thing to look forward to each week.

Disturbing...

A friend shared this video on her blog and although religion is very controversial, I wanted to post it.

Apparently Oprah is currently doing a study people are calling the "Church of Oprah". The book she is using is written by a man who when questioned about what happens when we die responds "I DON'T GIVE IT ANY THOUGHT" and comments that "religion is not about believing but about feeling". This is exactly what is wrong with our society. Too many celebrities are using their popularity to endorse these so-called "religions" and political candidates and who are the individuals that listen to their messages? The ones who are confused in life and/or are ignorant and unable to make decisions on their own and instead go with the "popular thing to do". For example, you ask many college students or people in general why they are voting for Obama and they cannot answer the question. I won't even begin discussing the population of people in this country that are "feeling" instead of believing. It's just disturbing how people are living their lives these days.

It's so important to remember what is right and what is wrong. Please spread the word and do not be afraid to share the RIGHT things with others and the GOOD things that are happening around you because we all know how much is being passed around in our one-sided media of the WRONG things to do and the BAD things that are happening.

15 Weeks!

5 weeks

12 weeks

15 weeks

15 weeks

Many of you have been asking for new pictures, so here are some of my growing baby bump! Aaron took the 15 week pictures tonight. I was told by a friend to wear the same outfit for each belly picture- sorry the first one is different. I'm now officially wearing maternity pants because my old pants were too tight around my waist. I went shopping with my mom and Aaron's mom Saturday and found some new clothes that fit! I go back to the doctor 2 weeks from today for my monthly appointment. We are 5 weeks away from 20 weeks... the week of the big ultrasound that takes all the measurements of the baby and tells us if we're having a boy or a girl! We're counting down the days. Keep our growing baby in your prayers that things continue healthy and happy!
